Spanish Adult Classes

Our students are our second family! Don't expect a traditional class setting like your high school or college class :). Be prepared to have fun, relax, laugh, make friends, and learn Spanish! Our small group classes will give you plenty of opportunities to speak in Spanish.

Sessions usually run for eight weeks with 1.30 hr of instruction in each class. More than covering a curriculum and teaching grammar, our goal is to help you apply the class material while speaking and understanding the language. Some classes can cover more or less material according to the student's progress. In addition, we will give you plenty of resources and tips to help you continue practicing the language regularly on your own. 

BEGINNER LEVEL 1 (12 hours) - For those with little or no Spanish knowledge. This course will help you take baby steps into the language with the foundations of Spanish pronunciation, reading, and writing. After this level, you will have enough vocabulary to start a basic conversation. We will cover:

• Vowels and consonant pronunciation
• Cognate words 
• Greetings and farewells
• Introducing oneself 
• Basic interrogative words
• Asking and answering simple questions
• Class commands 
• Possessive adjectives: “mi(s), tu(s), su(s)"
• Nouns, gender, and number
• Definite articles
• Colors and numbers 1-20
• 
  

BEGINNER LEVEL 2 (12 hours) - For those who have completed Spanish Beginner Level 1 or previously studied Spanish and have an understanding of the material covered in the previous course.

This course will focus on indefinite articles: "un. una, unos, unas", subject pronouns, verbs to be "ser, estar," and interrogative words: "dónde, cómo., quién ".

Vocabulary: places, feelings, opposites, occupations, and house. You will be so proud of yourself when you start making your questions and answers and understand the first episode of our favorite telenovela (soap opera).

All these concepts are applied to a dynamic class where speaking is hard to avoid. :)

BEGINNER LEVEL 3 (12 hours) -  For those who have completed the previous level or have previously studied Spanish and have an understanding of the material covered in previous courses. In this course, you will learn about "hay," plural possessive adjectives, prepositions "de, en, con," more interrogative words, verb "gustar" so you can express your likes and dislikes. 

Vocabulary: family, days of the week, months, and seasons.

All these lessons are applied in a dynamic class where each one can speak.

BEGINNER LEVEL 4 (12 hours)-  For those who have completed the previous level or have previously studied Spanish, and have an understanding of the material covered in previous courses.

In this course, you will learn about ordinal and cardinal numbers, ask for prices, tell the date and time, regular verbs in the present tense, transition words to help you in conversation, quantitative expressions, and quantitative expressions of time.

All these lessons are applied in a dynamic conversational class. 

BEGINNER LEVEL 5  (12 hours)-  For those who have completed the previous levels or have previously studied Spanish and have an understanding of the material covered in previous courses.

In this course, you will learn about irregular verbs in the present tense and practice to use those verbs in a dynamic conversation. You will also learn about direct object pronouns as a thing "lo, la, los, las" (he needs it ) and "personal a". You will be ready to speak using the present tense correctly.

BEGINNER LEVEL 6 (12 hours)-  For those who have completed the previous levels or have previously studied Spanish and have an understanding of the material covered in previous courses.

You will be introduced to reflexive verbs of daily routine,  demonstrative adjectives (this, that, these, those), speaking about future events and plans using "ir a" (going to), and continuing with direct object pronouns ( I love you, he needs me).

You will enjoy practicing these lessons with dynamic, conversational activities discussing your habits, future plans, daily schedule and more.

BEGINNER LEVEL 7 (12 hours)-  For those who have completed the previous levels or have previously studied Spanish and have an understanding of the material covered in previous courses. 

You will learn to use possessive pronouns (mine, yours, ours, etc.), prepositions of time (before, after, until, etc.), and to be able to narrate events in order and the present progressive tense to describe ongoing actions.

You will enjoy practicing these lessons in conversation.

INTERMEDIATE LEVELS - It is recommended for those who have completed the previous levels or studied Spanish and can comfortably converse in the present tense. 

This level introduces students to new verb tenses, including the two past tenses (preterit and imperfect), future tense, and conditional tense. These tenses will boost your ability to discuss the present, future, and past. We will also cover direct and indirect objects and "por and para."

ADVANCED LEVELS - It is recommended for those students who have completed the previous levels or who have previously studied Spanish and can comfortably converse using the tenses taught in the earlier levels.

At this level, the students will learn about the compound perfect tenses: present perfect, past perfect, future perfect, conditional perfect, and the subjunctive tenses. Students at this level can speak confidently, with more precision and fluency, about ideas and current issues worldwide, using all verbal tenses to near perfection. With better intonation and a more extensive vocabulary, students can read complex literature with less dictionary use and begin to understand better television, radio, films, word games, and most importantly, native humor.
